Infrastructure / Real Estate

VA&A advises on infrastructure related transactions, regulatory and finance issues. Practice includes advising on FDI policy on infrastructure and real estate, negotiation and drafting of participation or consortia agreements, vetting of tender documents, contracts with related parties, finance, regulatory approvals and taxation advice. The clients include global and domestic companies operating in areas of power, road, ports, railways and others.

Since its inception, the firm has been involved in servicing both, the public and the private sector in various Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiatives and projects. Initially, in the absence of any established and clear policy of the Government of India (GOI) on PPP and limited partnership structures/options considered by the GOI, the task of the firm was mainly on advising on the tender laws, contractual, land, dispute resolution laws, undertaking due diligence, drafting/vetting contracts, etc.

VA&A has a leading Real Estate practice in the region. The clients include international and Indian developers and real estate advisors, architects and designers, real estate investment funds and other players operating in construction industry.

The services include advising on investment opportunities in and out of India, foreign direct investment issues, regulatory and other approvals, transactions, collaboration agreements, due diligence, title verification, company registry searches, labour laws, tax advice, investment advisory services, deal structuring, securing transactions. The firm provides advice and assistance in lease negotiations; drafting lease document, stamp duty issues, registration etc.
